What is WEPA?
WEPA (Wireless Everywhere Print Anywhere) is a new print service being piloted at the University of Montevallo. WEPA kiosks have been setup in 5 locations around campus: Carmichael Library (first floor and Library Lab), Bloch Hall (second floor), Morgan Hall (second floor causeway) and the Residential College (first floor lobby).
How the WEPA System Works…
There are three ways to print to the WEPA kiosks:
1. File to Print. Some computer labs on campus have the WEPA File to Print software installed. In these locations, users will be prompted to login to their WEPA account whenever they print a document.
2. Upload to the WEPA Server. Users can upload documents from their own computers to their WEPA accounts, then go to any WEPA kiosk and print them out.
3. From a USB Drive. Users can plug a USB drive into a WEPA kiosk, and print directly from it.
Cost of WEPA Printing…
WEPA charges $0.08 for black & white copies, $0.49 for color copies.
WEPA Payment Methods
There are two methods to pay for WEPA prints:
1. Paying from a WEPA account. Users who create a personal account at the WEPA web site (www.wepanow.com) can add funds to their account using a credit card ($10 minimum). When pages are printed at the WEPA kiosk, the appropriate funds are deducted from the account.
2. Paying at the WEPA kiosk. Users who do not wish to create a WEPA account can swipe a credit card directly at the WEPA kiosk. However, a $0.20 surcharge is applied to each print job paid for in this manner. (No surcharge is ever applied when paying via a WEPA account.)
WEPA Account Creation…
1. Go to www.wepanow.com.
2. Enter the site, then click Print Now.
3. On the next screen, click Register Here.
4. Fill out the registration form, then click Register to create your WEPA account.
5. All UM Faculty, Staff and Students are free to make and use WEPA Accounts.
